A WOMAN OF VALOR
- Sermon By: Apostle Jackson Kgopolo
In what was a sunday dedicated to celebrating all women, young and old, married and unmarried, this were the words of Apostle Jackson Kgopolo to those in congregation;
” In everything we do, we are inspired by God – and where God’s inspiration is there is power. God answers prayers of those who are not sinners. The bible tells us of the first condition which states that if we abide in Him (God) He will abide in us. It takes us taking a step to be inclined to Him first, for Him to dwell in us. God is never late; He is always on time. If you love God, keep His commandments. “
Posing a question to the congregants, the Apostle asks:
Why are man always asked “ a o na le mahatlha” ( do you have what it takes) during marital proceedings.
This the Apostle says is for the reason that one needs to have something to cushion themselves with. A man needs a woman to make him settle down, whereas a woman needs a man to cushion her because women never seat down.
He continues to say “A woman who is arrogant and unfaithful to her husband demonstrates a greater lack of humility. However, if she is only arrogant without being unfaithful, she may still possess a degree of humility. It’s often said that no woman would readily admit to not having some level of arrogance. If you truly want to understand a woman’s character, you should speak to those closest to her, like her husband or first child. “
He then emphasizes that women may sometimes speak from their mouths without fully revealing their true feelings from the heart. All this being to get the husband’s attention.
Referencing the book of Proverbs 31: 10 – 11, the Apostle tells the congregants that trust is not in words but in deeds. Your ways and not your words are the ones that depict your true nature.
Going down to verse 12, he further says that anything a man does is on his wife’s reward. The results of his sweat are for his wife, who then passes it onto the children. As wives’ you ought to always be welcoming towards your husband. Women were created to be helpers.
Verse 13 speaks of a virtuous wife who increases what she receives from her husband. It describes a woman as an incubator of all that is entrusted upon her by her husband, but a foolish woman’s focus will be on the negatives instead of the positives.
Quoting the words of his mentor, Senior Prophet T.B.Joshua, he says – take the mistakes as an opportunity to learn. Do not use it against the good that will help you tomorrow.
Verse 24 of Proverbs 31 tells us that through a woman works that she is honored, hence the Setswana proverb that says mosadi tshwene o jewa mabogo. Your character as woman is what influences that of your children. Giving an illustration to further this, the Apostle speaks of a woman who her children were questioning her deeds as she would scream and shout at her children and use vulgar language towards them only to pick up her Bible and speak in tongues after. Deeds which had her children questioning the authenticity of her Christianity.
As a virtuous woman, walk, speak and act in ways pleasing to the Lord. Let your character and lifestyle be Christ like.
In closing, the man of God advised woman to always think before they speak. Let not your tongue be the one to send your husband to hell.
He then orders all women to stand on their feet and pray;
” Oh God give me the fear of the Lord. Give me the grace to maintain your fear Oh Lord.“
To explain what the fear of the Lord means, the Apostle says that it is when one’s actions and deeds are those approved by God. We ought to be woman whose homes, children and husband are desirable.
